Brief History of the Retina Display Model
The first retina display model to appear was the 15 inch version.This version of the Mac was first introduced October 22, 2013 by Apple at their San Francisco Fall Keynote address.
Both new retina versions of the pro, the 13 inch and 15 inch, now use the new Haswell chipset.
Apple also announced that they were reducing the price of both laptops by $200 as they are phasing out the non-retina versions.
